Expenses:

Excluding rent and utilities, 450 AUD per month is sufficient. Rentals are normally quoted by weeks, unlike by months in some countries. However, the rental payment might depend on the lease agreement. Prices range between 150-600 AUD per week, depending on the location and type of accommodation you are renting and if there are any extra services (i.e. catered meals) included.

Generally, meals at restaurants are priced from $10 to $15 AUD. Restaurant meals go from $15 AUD and up.

Flying Chalks’ tip: You can find the cheapest eat-out meal (food quality is a bit dodgy) for $4 AUD at the Renaissance Arcade. Meals make up a huge proportion of your expenses, so many students will recommend that you cook your own meals.
