Accommodation:
First year students are eligible to stay in the student accommodation/dormitory. Some dormitories provide catering for breakfast and dinner. Closer dormitories on-campus include Nash Grove, Holland Hall (catered), Mardon Hall (catered). They offer rooms with bathroom (en-suite) or shared bathroom facilities. For more information, please visit here!
For students in their second and third year, they will need to seek their own accommodation off-campus. There are many good house agents available in the city; the recommended one is Sweet Spot. Despite being relatively more expensive, they offer access to strategic housing area and provide very good service. They will help you out during your stay when you face some housing problem and need to consult to the landlord. They act like your supermom.
Typical private accommodation in Exeter is a house shared between 4-6 people, or a flat shared between 2-4 people. Something to watch out when you rent a house with a garden is that you may be required to mow the lawn once in a while. Rent in Exeter can vary around GBP 90-120 per week.
For exchange students, you can refer to this link for further info on accommodation.
University accommodation
The University guarantees a place in University accommodation to all unaccompanied international students for the first year of their studies – provided (a) they commence their studies in October, (b) the University has received a formal accommodation application form by 31st July, and (c) the accommodation deposit has also been received.
While the University cannot guarantee accommodation to those students who apply after 31st July or to students who commence their studies after the start of the Academic Year, they will seek to assist such students in any way they can.
Full details of University of Exeter accommodation and on-line booking are available on the Accommodation Office website.
Private rental accommodation
A number of students, especially those with families, prefer to live in private rental accommodation close to the University. Please note that this can take time to arrange and it may be difficult find a suitable place directly from overseas. Landlords often require references and a substantial deposit.

The Guild Advice Unit in Devonshire House offers a private accommodation contract-checking service which we strongly encourage anyone moving into private accommodation to take advantage of before signing a contract. Students can also consider this web resource.
