Accommodation:
Dormitory
Students who wish to stay on campus can apply for HKU’s Hall of Residence or its Residential Colleges (Jockey Club Student Village III). However, should all the vacancies for international students be filled up, students may also be assigned to off-campus student hostels.
Halls of Residence
Halls of Residence are known for their strong Hall spirit where its members identify very strongly with their Halls. Such is so that each Hall even has its own tradition, culture and unique characteristics that were developed over time. All the Halls have reserved a number of rooms for international students.
Most of the Halls only provide for double rooms. All rooms come equipped with air-conditioning, and occupants have access to communal toilet and bathroom facilities, common rooms and recreational facilities.

Apartment / room rental
With Hong Kong being one of the most densely populated places in the World, it comes with no surprise that any rooms that you rent are likely to be much smaller in size relative to the price paid as compared to most other countries.
HKU has rented a small number of flats in Sai Ying Pun (西營盤) and Jordan (佐敦) to provide more options for students who prefer off-campus housing.
