Bus passes are available for usage. You can purchase the bus passes on the bus or at a local QuikTrip stores. Some bus passes like the U2 bus pass provide users with unrestricted access to any routes (except express routes).

Flying Chalks’ tip: Public buses are seldom used by the local students due to the commuter nature. Most of them have private transports, so make more friends and they may just bring you around the city!
Otherwise, you can rent a car, cycle or take Uber/Lyft to get around city!
Banking Services:
To set up a bank account, you have to head down to the bank of your choice and bring the following documents:
- Valid form of Identification (Passport/I-94 card/Oklahoma Driving license)
- The University of Tulsa’s ID card
- Address of residency
- Mobile number (in Tulsa)
Once a bank account is open, the bank will issue a check card with ATM deposit / withdrawal functions. The time taken to issue check cards may vary with banks.

The University of Tulsa offers full mail services including registered /insured mail, priority /express and parcel-posts package services as well. On top of that, FedEx services are also offered at a discounted rate!

Located within campus, you will be able to gain access to care and treatment for minor illness and emergencies easily! However, appointments are very much preferred as there is not much walk-in availability. If appointments are not available, they are able to refer you to an off-campus emergency care unit or urgent care.

Weather:
Expect four distinct seasons and fluctuating climates in Oklahoma. However, you should bring clothes that you can wear in any weather.
Spring
The season of sprouting floras and warmth begins in late March and lasts through to May. Temperatures range between 4°C to 20°C. However, the Spring and Summer period is when you should look out for severe weather like hail, destructive winds and tornados.
Summer
The hot and muggy weather in Oklahoma begins in June and lasts through to early September. The average temperature during this season is 30°C. However, summer temperatures can fluctuate between 25°C and 40°C.
Fall/Autumn
The “Yellow season” of falling leaves begins in late September and lasts through November. It is generally regarded as the best season to visit with its cool temperatures (as compared to summer) around 19°C and scenic autumn foliage. Temperatures still range between 10°C to 27°C.
Winter
The weather for thick coats, snow storms, ice storms and frost in Tulsa begins late November to mid-March. Temperatures can fall as low as -12°C. The warmest temperature you can expect during this season is 10°C. Tulsa experiences one or two snow storms during this period. However, ice storms have becoming increasingly common.
