VISA
Students who wish to study in Korea have to apply for a D-2 student visa from the Korean Embassy or Consulate in your home country. The Exchange student visa for South Korea is coded D-2-6. As application procedures vary between Embassies and Consulates, do approach the Korean Embassy / Consulate in your home country to verify what documents are required from you!
Generally, the following documents are required:
- Letter of acceptance from your University (after submitting forms to your home university)
- South Korea visa application form (Form No.17) (Download)
- Scanned image files of passport pages
- Digital Photograph (in natural color, size: 3.5cm x 4.5cm)
- Fee (credit card for e-Payment)

Flying Chalks’ recommendation: Should you not have any intentions to travel to another country (from Korea) within the first 90 days, apply for the single-entry VISA to save some money!

South Korea VISA (For Singaporeans)
Students travelling to Korea for a period exceeding 91 days are required to apply for a Visa (in home country) and an Alien Registration Card (in Korea upon arrival). To obtain a VISA for South Korea, here's a rundown of the Korean VISA requirements.
Required documents:
- One completed South Korea VISA application form (Download) with one coloured, passport-sized photo.
- Original passport with at least 6 months validity
- School letter that states name of applicant, passport number, student status, entry level/ courses enrolled and exchange programme (original)
- Certificate of Admission from host school in Korea (original)
- Applicant's recent last 3 months bank statements / bank passbook in Singapore (original and copy)
- Student pass / NRIC in Singapore (original and copy)
- One copy of re-entry permit to Singapore (Applicable to Singapore PR ONLY)
For Singaporeans only:

- One copy of re-entry permit to Singapore (Applicable to Singapore PR ONLY)

Do note that the operating hours for VISA application & collection are from 9am-11.30am, Monday to Friday ONLY. The application will take about 4 working days to be processed.

Alien Registration Card (to be applied in Korea)
Foreigners who will be staying in Korea for more than 90 days are required to apply for the Alien Registration Card. Foreigners must register themselves within 90 days from their date of arrival. Please prepare the necessary documents and visit the local immigration office or branch office under relevant jurisdiction for the application.

- Application form (can be obtained and filled in at the immigration office)
- Passport
- 2 colour passport-sized photos (3x4cm)
- Relevant school documents for stay in Korea
