Accommodation:
There are 2 different housing options for exchange students that are managed by the university: Lulebo AB (a dorm room) or Lindbacks Fastighteter AB (shared apartment).
For Lulebo, you are provided with a single room, private bathroom, and shower. You have access to communal kitchen facilities in each “corridor” and laundry facilities. As for Lindbäcks, you are provided with a single room and shared kitchen, bathroom, and shower. You will also have access to laundry facilities. The costs of the two housing options are comparable; varying between 2200 and 3000 SEK (includes electricity, heating, and water).
Flying Chalks’ tip: It is highly recommended for you to sign up and apply as early as possible. Although you are required to be accepted as a student in LTU before you can move in, it is possible to register and put yourself in line few months in advance.
Apart from the above housing options, you can also consider the following:
- Nordkalotten Student Hotel
Shared rooms
WiFi, fully equiped kitchen, laundry facilities, storage, parking, relax area with sauna and pool included
Direct bus to the university
3600 SEK/month
Fastigheter Lina (Apartment Hotel)
- Specializing in furnished apartments for short-term stays, they are generally more expensive than other accommodation options. Their apartments are conveniently located in the city centre and students can get to LTU by bus.
Flying Chalks’ tip: Most international students stay in the Björkskatan or Väderleden area with other exchange students. They are about 15-30 minutes’ walk or 5-15 minutes by bike from LTU.
