The University of Münster does not operate its own residence halls. However, as Münster has a large population of university students, there are a number of options for finding accommodation.
Student Halls (Studentenwerk Münster)
You may apply for a room or apartment in one of the student halls of residence ("Studentenwerk Münster"). These halls are offered by the Student Support Services. The available accommodation options range from single rooms, studio apartments, and large flats with 2-6 rooms per apartment. The Studentenwerk Münster spans 22 residence buildings, and monthly rent starts from €224.05 including heating. You can find out more about the available accommodation options here.

Flying Chalks’ tip: It can be tough to find accommodation at the beginning of the semester. Plan ahead and make sure your accommodation is confirmed in advance, as well as the date and time you can collect your keys, as hostels and hotels in the area can be very expensive.
Resident Registration
You will be required by law to register your place of residence in Münster with the local authorities, within one week of moving in. You can register at the Citizens Office (Bürgerbüro), along with your identity card/passport, registration form (downloadable from Citizens Office website) and a document to verify your new address.
