Private lodging
Students who wish to acquire lodging outside of campus should seek the necessary approval.
- Sign a legal contract with the landlord
- Obtain the “Foreigners temporary residence certificate《境外人员临时户口凭证》” from the nearest police station, within the next 24 hours from moving in.
- Head over to Zhejiang International College to register and apply for a new “Foreigners temporary residence certificate”. Students residing outside campus should ensure that the Zhejiang International College has registered their address and contact number.

Flying Chalks’ tip: Do note that should you fail to register for the “Foreigners temporary residence certificate” within 24hrs of moving in, you will be fined.
Dormitory
The International Building at Yuquan Campus provides housing services to Zhejiang University’s foreign students at 1,300 RMB to 1,900 RMB monthly for double rooms.
Besides, International students usually stay at Dormitory Building 31. Upon arrival at the campus, students are required to head directly to Cyber-Systems and Control (CSC, a lab building) where they will be taken to Block 31.

- Washing Machine:
Block 31 Dormitory (Yuquan Campus):
You can find yourself mixing with other international students when staying in Block 31 Domitory. Other cleaning necessities such as washing machines are available on every storey that is not chargeable.
ZhuKeZhen Hall of International Education (Yuquan Campus):
ZhuKeZhen Hallof International Education is located in G1 of campus. Washing machines are also available within the dormitory however, unlike Block 31, they are not free-of-charge. A 4RMB and 6RMB is required per basket/ bucket of clothing.
- Telephone
General campus accommodation: Telephones are available in an average campus dormitory. However, it is not recommended that you use it to make long-distance calls as it would mean a large cost thereafter. It is recommended by Zhejiang University for you to purchase a 201 campus card and an IP Card (201校园电话卡和IP电话卡) for this purpose. There are several types of IP cards available. Hence make sure to purchase on that is able to make long-distance calls (e.g. 17910 card/ 17910卡)!

- Internet Access/ Wifi
Students who reside within Zhejiang University will be entitled to internet access upon registration. Registration fees will cost approximately 10 RMB. Students will be required to bring along their student ID and passport for this purpose. On top of that subscription fees are at 50 RMB per month.
Students living in YuChuan Campus can proceed to the School’s Network Center located on the 6th floor of its library to subscribe for internet access.
Students living in ZhuKeZhen Hall of International Education can register for internet access at its main desk without extra charges.
Within the coffee shop on the 2nd floor of ZhuKeZhen Hall of International Education, 3 computers are available for students’ usage at 2RMB per hour. Internet cards are available for purchase at the convenient store there as well.
