Travel Insurance:

1. National Health Insurance Program
All international students staying in Japan for 12 months or more must apply for the National Health Insurance Program. The National Health Insurance Program is a medical insurance program that allows your to receive treatment and examinations at medical institutions in case of accidents or injuries. The National Health Insurance will cover about 70% of the total medical cost incurred. The remaining 30% can be covered for by the Rokkyo Student Mutual-Aid insurance.

2. Rikkyo Student Mutual-Aid Health Insurance Union
All international students (including exchange students) are required to purchase this insurance. Insurance premium is JPY 3,500 per year. You will not need to pay medical treatment fees (as an outpatient) at the contracted medical institutions by purchasing both types of insurance above (National Health Insurance and Rikkyo Student Mutual-Aid Health Insurance).
