Private Rooms/ Apartment

If you choose not to take up the university’s accommodation, you will have to look at the private sector. Finding somewhere to rent can be daunting, therefore you should be alert when responding to various adverts for private accommodation. Find out if the property is registered by visiting Landord Registration Scotland website. If you cannot find the property then you can call or email the Council's landlord registration team to double check on 0131 469 5293 or email them at landlordregistration@edinburgh.gov.uk.

If they are not registered, you should not rent from them. Look for your private accommodation using a list of websites here.
