Hello everyone! My name is Darien, and I’m from Singapore. I’ve been studying in South Korea for about three months now, and I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Media and Communication at Sejong University.
When I first decided to study abroad, I didn’t know much about the universities in South Korea. But thankfully, I found Flying Chalks, who recommended Sejong University to me. After learning more about it, I felt confident that it would be a great choice. The university’s program in Media and Communication aligns with my passion for working in the creative industry, and there are plenty of career opportunities in this field in South Korea, which made me feel even more sure about my decision.
I came across Flying Chalks while I was researching study abroad options online. When I Googled “study in South Korea,” Flying Chalks was the first result that appeared. I reached out to them, and after a consultation, I decided to move forward with the application process. From that point on, they supported me every step of the way—helping with the university application, admission, student visa, and even guiding me through my arrival in South Korea. Having their help made everything much easier and less stressful.
While it’s possible to apply on your own, working with Flying Chalks made everything much smoother. They took care of the complicated aspects, such as preparing all the necessary documents and handling the application process. This ensured that everything was done correctly, and I didn’t have to worry about mistakes that could affect my admission success or spending money on resubmissions. Additionally, their support throughout the entire journey gave me peace of mind, knowing that I had someone to turn to whenever I encountered issues.
Now that I’ve been in South Korea for a few months, I can confidently say that the experience has been amazing. I’ve made many international friends and Korean friends, and we often hang out together. We enjoy trying new restaurants and exploring the city, which is one of the best parts about living here. However, one thing I’d recommend preparing for is the fast-paced academic environment. The curriculum can be quite intense, and you should be prepared to study hard, especially when exams come around.
Regarding the language, you don’t necessarily need to know Korean to study in South Korea, as many Korean universities offer program majors that are taught entirely in English. However, I do recommend learning some basic Korean, especially for reading, as it helps with navigating daily life here. It’s a small effort that can make a big difference in your overall experience.
When it comes to dating, well, nothing has happened yet, but I’m trying. Some of my Korean friends are introducing me to their friends, so I’m hopeful.
If you’re considering studying in South Korea, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take the leap. It’s a life-changing experience, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Also, big thanks to Flying Chalks for helping make this journey possible for me.
If you’re looking into studying in South Korea, I highly recommend reaching out to Flying Chalks for support, just like I did.
