From May 12 to 14, 2025, Flying Chalks had the pleasure of welcoming students from the University of Economics and Law (UEL), Vietnam, for a specially curated Singapore Entrepreneurship & Cultural Immersion Program. This 3-day, 2-night study tour was designed to provide students with a holistic experience that combined academic enrichment, entrepreneurial exposure, and cultural discovery in one of Asia’s most innovative and multicultural cities.
Day 1 - Cultural Immersion & Iconic Landmarks
The program began with the students’ arrival at Changi Airport, followed by hotel check-in and a welcome lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon was dedicated to a Cultural Immersion Tour in Chinatown, where students explored Singapore’s diverse ethnic roots through visits to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Sri Mariamman Temple, Masjid Jamae Mos Mosque, and other historical sites. This was followed by a welcome dinner featuring authentic Singaporean cuisine.
.
In the evening, the group visited Marina Bay, where they learned about Singapore’s land reclamation history and admired iconic landmarks such as the Merlion Park, Helix Bridge, and Marina Bay Sands. The day concluded with free-and-easy shopping at The Shoppes and a spectacular Light & Water Show.
Day 2 - Entrepreneurship in Action
The second day focused on Singapore’s innovation and startup landscape. After breakfast, students visited Expara, one of Southeast Asia’s leading venture capital firms, where they gained insights into venture funding and startup growth. This was followed by a tour of Launchpad @One-North, Singapore’s startup hub, including stops at Blk 71, NUS Enterprise, and UCOMMUNE co-working spaces.
In the afternoon, the group visited Singapore Management University (SMU), where they interacted with local students and learned about the university’s role in supporting aspiring entrepreneurs venture creation, startup incubation, and innovation-focused programs. Additionally, this visit offered valuable insights into how universities can empower students to turn ideas into impactful ventures.
The day continued with a visit to the National Museum of Singapore, offering a deeper understanding of the country’s history and economic transformation. The evening wrapped up with dinner at a local hawker center and a visit to Gardens by the Bay, where students enjoyed the mesmerizing Supertree light show.
Day 3 - Jewel Changi & Farewell
On the final day, students had a relaxed morning to pack and explore before heading to Jewel Changi Airport. There, they marveled at the Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, and explored the lush indoor gardens. The program concluded with a farewell lunch at the airport before departure.
